Maori Rock Art-Kurow-Elephant Rocks

Finally a day-off and enough time to visit a part of Otago with an English and three taiwaneses. Bound for Kurow. On the way, first stop at Maori Rock Art. Those are cliffs with holes. That’s cool but the trail is closed because of rockfalls. Barely onsite, already gone. After 60 km I am arrived in this small town, life place of Ritchie McCaw while he was a child. Small, sorry too small, nothing to watch, just time to photography the bank, eat something, and stop to the Museum to ask where was located Elephant Rock. U-turn, bound for Duntroon then at the exit of the city turn right to go to Elephant Rocks. The site was rapidly reached after 20 minutes drive. That site is due to the erosion which sculpted shapes in the limestone. After about 30-40 minutes there, everybody got in the car en route for Oamaru using bending road. And last stop at Awamoko Valley before the final trip for Oamaru. Outcome of the day, I breathed the fresh air and watched nice place. Next day-off is Sunday and maybe I will visit Timaru.

Handy tip in New Zealand, e is pronounced i because of their accent. You have to be attentive when they speak to avoid any confusions like left and lift, ten and teen, sex and six…

See you later for the next visit (If you have been focused you would pronounce next, nixt, hehe).
